Deutsche Hypothekenbank is financing a building complex in the “Gerling-Quartier” in Cologne for King Holding GmbH, a joint venture between Quantum Immobilien AG and PROXIMUS Real Estate AG. The 4.6 hectare large quarter is located in the Friesenviertel in the centre of Cologne. With an area of 11,650 square metres, a city hotel has already been built here in the so-called round building, which is operated under the 25hours brand. It comprises 207 rooms and an underground car park. In addition to its central yet quiet location, the hotel is particularly attractive due to its design concept and a direct view of Cologne Cathedral. Further highlights of the 25hours “The Circle” are the restaurant NENI and the Monkey Bar on the roof terrace of the hotel. There are other properties on the site which are to be used primarily as office buildings in the future.
“The Gerling-Quartier has developed into an attractive residential and office quarter. With the newly opened 25hours hotel and the buildings under construction, the quarter will become even more attractive. The concept is a perfect match for the Gerling-Quartier,” explains Sabine Barthauer, Member of the Board of Managing Directors of Deutsche Hypo. “We are very pleased to support our customers Quantum Immobilien AG and PROXIMUS Real Estate AG in this financing.”
