At its meeting today, the Supervisory Board of Deutsche Hypothekenbank (Actien-Gesellschaft) appointed Christian Veit to the Board of Managing Directors of the Bank. He thus joins Andreas Rehfus as a member of the Board of Managing Directors with equal rights.
Veit will take up the position on 1 September 2020 and succeed Sabine Barthauer, who will leave Deutsche Hypo after four years on the Board of Managing Directors. Veit will assume responsibility for the bank’s back office areas. Andreas Rehfus will be responsible for Deutsche Hypo’s market division in future.
Christian Veit (49) has worked for the NORD/LB Group since 1997. The graduate in banking business administration has held various management positions at the Luxembourg subsidiaries NORD/LB Luxembourg S.A. and NORD/LB Covered Finance Bank S.A. Since 2012 he has been Chairman of the Board of Directors of NORD/LB’s Pfandbrief Bank there and merged the subsidiary banks in 2015 to form the current NORD/LB Luxembourg S.A. Covered Bond Bank.
At the end of 2016 Veit took over as Chairman of the Board of Management of the Bremer Landesbank and was responsible for the full integration of the bank into NORD/LB. After the merger on 31 August 2017 he became Regional Board Member for Bremen and Oldenburg and Head of Business Development with the German Savings Banks Network at NORD/LB. Since 2018 Veit has also assumed responsible tasks in the capitalisation and reorganisation of NORD/LB. Since February 2020 he has been co-head of the NORD/LB 2024 transformation programme.
